More bad news…

Once again apologies for the lack of posts, this past few weeks has been pretty rough for us and it got a whole lot worse yesterday as we had to put our cat to sleep. The vet thinks she may have had genetic kidney failure, which came on incredible suddenly. She was fine one day, then the next she looked really thin and started hiding under tables. We took her straight to the vet but there was nothing they could do for her and so we had to have her put to sleep.

As you can imagine, following on from the death of my father a few weeks ago this was hard to take and the last thing we needed, especially right before Christmas.

I don’t think I am going to be posting again this year, so I’m going to wish all my readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year right now, and we’ll see you all in 2017, which hopefully will be a much better year.

  1. Having to have a beloved pet euthanised is one of the most difficult things any animal lover may have to do. We’re fortunate, in that our cats have tended to live longer than average lives, but still… You certainly have my sympathy.

I hope you and Mistress R can manage a to have a Merry Christmas despite the loss of your sweet cat.

  2. Thanks Harry and Anonymous,
Minky was only seven, which makes it all the harder given our previous cat lived to 21. Truth be told we’re not feeling very festive at the moment… even though it was 100% the right thing to do, and we know we saved her from having to experience going downhill and getting really sick, it’s really tough.

  3. Hi Collaredmichael and Someone NSFW,
Thanks for your kind words… inevitably it gets a little easier as each day passes and Christmas has been a welcome distraction from thinking about it..
